Content written to rank, and to sound like a person wrote it
A lot of SEO content is written for search engines and nobody else. It repeats the keyword, says very little, and people leave. We start by studying the pages that already rank, so we know what yours has to cover. Then we write something a real customer will read to the end. SEO content writing and copywriting for the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Part of our wider SEO services.
SEO copywriting services, priced by content type not word count
We do not sell writing by the thousand words. We write the specific pages that will move your site forward. For most businesses that means a mix of the six types below.
Service and landing pages
These are the pages that actually win you work. They need to rank in Google and answer the doubt a buyer already has in their head.
Blog posts and articles
We choose topics by looking at what already ranks, not by picking a title someone liked in a meeting.
Pillar pages and clusters
One detailed page on your main topic, with smaller articles around it. We link them together so Google sees the main page as the important one.
Comparison and alternatives
People reading these are close to buying. AI assistants also quote this type of page more than any other.
Product and category copy
Product descriptions written from scratch instead of copied from the manufacturer, plus category pages that can rank on their own.
Refreshing old content
Often the quickest win available. We rewrite pages that used to rank and have slipped, instead of starting again.
The brief is where the ranking is won
Anyone can write a thousand words about a topic. The hard part is knowing what the page must cover before you start writing. We work that out by reading the pages already ranking, instead of guessing what people want.
- Keyword research, including what the page should not try to be
- The pages currently ranking, broken down for structure and gaps
- A brief setting out the angle, the headings and the questions to answer
- A first draft from a briefed writer, then an edit by someone else
- Every fact and figure checked and credited before it goes live
Every piece ships finished, not as a wall of text
A page of paragraphs on its own will not rank. The items below are what make Google understand the page and make readers trust it. They are all included in the price.
On the page
- A page title and description written by hand, not generated automatically
- Headings that match the way people skim a page
- Links to and from the other pages that matter on your site
- Proper image descriptions and file names, not DSC_0042.jpg
Experience and trust
- A named author with a real biography, where that helps
- Claims backed up with a source and a link
- Real detail from experience, not a rewrite of page one of Google
- Article, FAQ and how-to markup where it suits the page
Written for your reader
- Your tone of voice, taken from what you already publish
- British or American spelling, chosen for your market
- Jargon removed, unless your customers use it themselves
- Sentences a person would actually say out loud
Yes we use AI. No, it does not write your site.
Saying anything else would be dishonest. Every agency claiming to be one hundred percent human is using AI somewhere. The question that matters is whether a person with judgement was involved. Google takes the same view. It rewards content that genuinely helps the reader, however it was made, and it acts against pages mass produced just to rank.
Where it genuinely helps
- Gathering what the top ranking pages already cover
- Suggesting angles for a writer to choose between
- Checking grammar and consistency on a final pass
- Producing variations across hundreds of product descriptions
Where we will not use it
- The draft that carries your brand voice
- Any claim or statistic, which we check ourselves
- Experience and opinion, which have to be genuine to be worth reading
- Anything published without a person editing it first
Content that earns its place in the plan
Figures from live work. We do not publish client names.
- Nine linked pages that brought in a third of a site’s search traffic within eight months
- Old posts rewritten rather than replaced, back on page one within six weeks
- 600 product descriptions rewritten, and the category pages started ranking afterwards

Content questions we get asked most
Starting with cost, and with the one everybody asks about AI.
How much do SEO content writing services cost?
We charge per page, not per word. The price depends on how much research the topic needs and how long the page has to be. A service page competing against established sites needs far more research than a supporting blog post, so charging the same for both would make no sense. You get a fixed price before we write anything, and two rounds of changes are included.
Is the content written by AI?
Not the draft you receive. We use AI the way most writers now do, to gather research and check grammar. A person writes and edits everything that gets published. If you ask, we will tell you exactly where a tool was used, and you are welcome to run any AI detector you like.
Will it actually rank, or just read well?
It should do both. Every page starts from a brief based on what is already ranking, so the structure comes from evidence rather than opinion. Ranking also depends on how strong your site is and how competitive the keyword is. If a keyword is out of reach for now, we will say so and suggest one you can realistically win.
How long does a piece take?
A standard blog post or service page takes five to seven working days once you approve the brief. Longer guides, or anything needing an interview with your team, usually take two weeks. If you need several pages a month, we agree a schedule so the writing and your reviews are spread out instead of arriving all at once.
Do you write in British or American English?
Either, chosen for your market and used consistently. If you sell in both the UK and the US, we can write both versions of your main pages. We then set them up correctly so Google shows the right version to each country instead of treating them as duplicates.
Can you work with our subject matter experts?
Yes, and the writing is always better when we do. Thirty minutes with the person who actually does the work gives us detail nobody else has. That is the difference between a page worth linking to and a summary of what is already on Google. We do the writing, they provide the expertise, and their name goes on the page if that helps.
What about content that already exists but stopped performing?
That is often where we start. Pages slip over time as competitors publish better ones. Updating a page that already has links and history is usually faster and cheaper than writing a new one. We review what you have, decide what to update, combine or delete, and rewrite the pages worth saving.
Send us a page you are unhappy with and the term you want it to rank for. We will tell you what is missing.
Tell us what you need and we will show you how we would do it
Share a few details about your business and what you want to fix or build. It could be a new website, a WordPress site that keeps breaking, SEO that has stalled, or a sales process that needs automating. We will come back with honest advice, even if that means a smaller job than you expected.
