Technical SEO services that fix what holds your rankings back
Good content will not rank if Google cannot read your site properly. We find what is blocking it, give you the fixes in order of importance, then do the work. Technical SEO for the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. This is one part of our wider SEO services.
Your content is fine. Google just cannot get to it.
Most sites we audit are not short of content or links. Something small and technical is holding them back. A redirect pointing at another redirect. A tag telling Google to ignore the page. A template that shows nothing until a script finishes loading. Below are the problems we see most often, and what usually causes them.
Pages that never get indexed
Google has visited these pages and decided not to keep them. The usual causes are pages with too little content, near duplicate versions of the same page, or a tag pointing Google to a different page.
Rankings that slipped after a redesign
The new site has new page addresses, but the old links still point to the old ones. When those redirects are missing or chained together, years of built up authority is lost.
A site that is slow on phones
Your most important pages load too slowly. The usual causes are scripts that block the page from appearing and images far bigger than the space they fill. On WordPress it is usually fixable without a rebuild, which is what our WordPress page speed optimisation service is for.
Rich results that never show up
The markup is there but contains errors, or it is the wrong type for that page. Google reads it, finds the mistake, and shows a plain link instead.
What a technical SEO audit actually covers
We check four areas on your actual site, rather than working through a generic checklist. Every problem we find names the page it affects and the fix it needs.
Crawling and indexing
- Robots and sitemap files that match how the site really works
- Google’s time spent on pages that actually earn you money
- Near duplicate page addresses combined into one
- Indexing errors cleared in Google Search Console
Speed and Core Web Vitals
- Loading speed and stability measured on real visits, not lab tests
- Scripts and fonts that delay the page removed
- Images resized properly and saved in modern formats
- Caching set up and server response time reduced
Architecture and internal links
- A site structure that both customers and Google can follow
- Internal links that pass authority to the pages that matter
- Pages with no links pointing to them found and connected
- Redirects that point at other redirects cleaned up
Structured data and rendering
- Markup that passes validation and earns rich results in Google
- JavaScript content that Google can actually read
- Language and country tags that work properly on international sites
- Duplicate page tags that point where you actually intend
An audit you can act on, then the work itself
Most technical SEO audits are a spreadsheet nobody opens twice. Ours names the problem, the page it affects and the fix, listed in the order that will make the biggest difference. Then we do the work. A technical SEO agency that only hands over a list has not finished the job.
- An audit naming each problem, the page it affects and the fix
- A priority list ordered by impact, not by what is easiest to do
- The work done by us, or alongside your own developers
- Monthly checks, so the same problems do not come back
The stacks we know well enough to change safely
Technical SEO depends heavily on the platform. Fixing a large online shop has almost nothing in common with fixing a modern headless website. A change that helps one can break the other.
WordPress
Slow page builders, plugins that clash with each other, and themes loading code the site never uses.
Shopify
Duplicate collection pages, filter links creating thousands of extra addresses, and speed work that survives theme updates.
WooCommerce
Large product catalogues, filter and sorting links, and a checkout that has to stay fast when busy.
Webflow and Wix
Getting real technical improvements within the limits these builders allow.
Headless and custom
React, Next and Vue sites, where how the page loads decides whether you rank at all.
SaaS and large sites
Thousands of similar pages, kept under control so Google spends its time on the ones that matter.
What fixing the technical side actually moves
Figures from live work. We do not publish client names.
- Main content loading time cut from 4.8 seconds to 1.9 on a Shopify store
- Pages in Google up from 412 to 3,180 after fixing duplicate page tags
- Crawl errors down from 2,400 to zero on a site with twelve years of history

Technical SEO questions we get asked most
Starting with the two that come up on almost every first call.
How much do technical SEO services cost?
It depends on the size of your site and what condition it is in. A fifty page website is a very different job from a fifty thousand page shop carrying fifteen years of old addresses. We quote the audit as a fixed price. Once we know what is actually wrong, we quote the fixes separately. That way you are not paying a monthly fee for problems nobody has found yet. You can also stop after the audit and hand it to your own team.
Is SEO still worth it now that AI answers everything?
Search has changed, not disappeared. AI answers are still built from pages that search engines can read. The tools that quote sources can only quote pages they managed to load properly. That makes technical work more important than before, not less. A page Google cannot read is also a page an AI cannot quote. The work described here is the same work that gets you into those answers.
What is technical SEO?
Technical SEO is everything that decides whether a search engine can reach your pages, understand them, and trust them enough to rank them. That covers crawling, indexing, speed, site structure, markup and how pages load. It does not write your content or earn your links. It makes sure the content and links you already have actually count.
What are the three types of SEO?
Most people split it into three. Technical SEO is whether search engines can reach and understand your site. On page SEO is the content itself and how it is written and structured. Off page SEO is the links and mentions you earn on other websites. They are not separate projects. Technical usually comes first, because the other two will not pay off on a site Google cannot read.
How long does a technical SEO audit take?
Two to three weeks on a normal site. Large shops take longer, because we need to gather crawl data over time. You get findings as we go, not one document at the end. The easy wins get fixed while we are still working on the rest.
Do you fix the issues or just hand us a list?
We do the work. Most audits hand over a list and stop there, which is why most audits end up forgotten in a shared drive. We make the changes ourselves where we have access. Otherwise we work with your developers and write the tasks in language they can act on straight away.
Will you need developer access to our site?
Google Search Console and analytics to begin with. After that we need access to your site, or to a test version of it, depending on the fixes. If you would rather we never touched the live site, we write the work up, hand it to your team, and check it afterwards. Every account stays in your name throughout.
Not sure whether technical is where your problem actually is? Send us the domain and we will tell you before you commit to anything.
